Dental implant postoperative period is painless
Although it is hard to believe, dental implant placement is never painful.
There are interventions that may cause some discomfort in the postoperative period, especially if several types of interventions are performed at the same time:
- Placement of a large number of dental implants
- Extraction of many teeth
- Placement of caps or crowns on temporary implants
- o it is essential to perform surgery to grow the bone and gum.
See the previous sections for more information.
In 90% of patients treated with dental implants there is no discomfort after the intervention. There are no wounds or stitches, therefore there is no inflammation or bleeding. So much so that most of the time they only take one or two painkillers in the entire postoperative period. In these cases, they can return to their normal life as soon as the treatment is finished and should only follow a couple of rules to avoid discomfort during the postoperative period.
Visit our clinics to explain your case. On the first visit we will perform a dental CT and a complete study, totally free of charge. What is the postoperative period like for more complex treatments?
The postoperative period in this type of patient is very comfortable. Patients who need more complex treatments are usually sedated, so they are not aware of the treatment time and before the end of the intervention we have already administered antibiotics, anti-inflammatory drugs, analgesics and gastric protector in a serum.
This way they never have any discomfort and the postoperative period is much more comfortable. In less than an hour they can go home and with some care for two days it is more than enough.
In our clinics in Barcelona and Ibiza we specialize in complex treatments and in the use of dental sedation in all our treatments. I recommend you to access the previous sections and you will get more information about it.
