different types of dental implants, capable of adapting to the needs of any patient.

The current pace of life and esthetic demands stigmatize the loss of a tooth, especially in people who can still be considered young. As a result, dental reconstruction treatments have had to catch up to meet these needs.

We can speak of different types of implants, depending on the material in which they are made and their placement. The type of treatment chosen is also influenced by the quantity and quality of the patient’s jawbone, since it may be necessary to perform a graft or some type of reconstruction.

The materials most commonly used today are titanium and zirconium. Both are fully biocompatible, durable and easily integrated into the body. Zirconium is often used in patients who are allergic to titanium or who require a much higher esthetic quality.

Regarding the type of placement, we can differentiate between implants:

– Traditional implants

Immediate load implants

– Zygomatic implants

For this reason it is important to be informed about the best implant for each patient and situation.

Which type of implant is the most suitable for me?

Before answering this question, at IMOI we perform a complete dental diagnosis and a CAT scan, both free of charge, in order to decide which treatment is the most appropriate for your situation and your financial situation.

Our professionals will advise you on the smile design that best suits you, in order to decide the kind of implant you need. They will also inform you of the advantages and disadvantages of each of the treatments we offer.

Sometimes, when it is simply a question of dental esthetics, but the tooth can be saved, porcelain veneers can be used. These are very thin caps that are cemented to the tooth and are able to solve most defects, such as stains, cracks or irregularities. Once placed on the patient’s teeth or molars, the result is natural and very attractive.

Advantages and disadvantages of the different types of implants

It could be said that, when it comes to implants, everything is an advantage. However, just as no two people are alike, not all treatments are valid for all patients.

Traditional implants

In traditional implants, we play with the time factor. First, the screw is placed and, once the osseointegration is complete, the crown is placed. The main disadvantage is that the patient must spend several months without the tooth, with the aesthetic, chewing and phonation consequences that this entails. If, in addition, bone grafting were necessary, the process could take much longer.

Immediate load implants

As for immediate load implants, they have the advantage that the person can enter and leave the clinic with the tooth in place on the same day. In addition, as it is a minimally invasive procedure, recovery is very fast and the person can immediately return to normal life.

At IMOI we are pioneers in this type of dental aesthetic treatments, in which we can perform an extraction and placement of the new piece in a single session.

In cases where the patient has a clear deterioration of the maxillofacial bone density, we can also offer a quick solution, without the need to wait months for it to regenerate.

Zygomatic implants

The
zygomatic implants
are this measure we are talking about. They are inserted into the molar bone and, in less than 24 hours, it is possible to place the crown of your choice. With this type of implant, the patient can go home with the best smile.
