The esthetics of the smile is one of the aspects most and best valued by patients. Surely, at some point, you too have wondered what treatments you could have to achieve a more beautiful and harmonious smile, right? Although it depends on the needs of each patient, the truth is that dental veneers are a solution that not only allows us to achieve whiter teeth.
These thin films, which we make with different materials and place on the visible side of the teeth, allow us to correct small imperfections related to their shape, size and even arrangement in the dental arches. In addition, the veneers are custom-made for each patient.
Do you know what types of dental veneers exist and what are their benefits? In this article, from our dental clinic in Ibiza, we explain everything you should know about this aesthetic treatment.
Types of dental veneers
Depending on the needs of each patient, the material used for their fabrication and the desired esthetics, there are different types of dental veneers. Each of them has a different duration and different results.
First of all, we have composite veneers, a resin that we apply and mold directly on the surface of the teeth, hardened thanks to an LED light. They are easy to place and repair in case of fracture. Their quality and price, however, is lower than that of porcelain veneers.
Secondly, porcelain veneers offer a highly esthetic and natural result. Over time, they do not change color and require little maintenance. Finally, Lumineers veneers offer the best result, as they are also ultra-thin and do not require the tooth to be lowered for their placement.
What are the benefits of this treatment?
In addition to a substantial improvement in the aesthetics of the smile, dental veneers also allow:
- Achieve very natural results, quickly and with a minimally invasive procedure.
- Enjoy whiter teeth, especially when there are internal stains on the teeth that teeth whitening cannot solve.
- To cover dental fractures resulting from blows, falls and accidents.
- Improvement of teeth alignment in mild cases of dental malposition.
- Correction of the diastema, that is, the separation between two or more teeth.
- Correction of the shape of the teeth, especially when the patient has, for example, very short teeth.
