Zygomatic implants have been a huge breakthrough for people with bone loss to enjoy the benefits of this discipline. At IMOI we are

Zygomatic implants: a milestone in implantology
Until not so long ago, patients with little jawbone were not candidates for dental implant treatment. Advances in implantology techniques later allowed the option of grafting bone to regenerate the patient’s own bone in order to place the screw.
However, the time required for bone regeneration after grafting greatly lengthened the processes, so that the patient had to be without a tooth for a long time, with all that this entailed.
Thanks to the
zygomatic implants
patients with bone loss can have an implant placed without the need for long waiting times.
What are zygomatic implants?
As the name suggests, these implants are placed on the zygomatic or malar bone, that is, the bone that forms the cheekbone, just below the eye socket. They are recommended to replace the loss of premolars and the upper arch.
The implants are placed in an operation that lasts only 20 minutes and is performed under local anesthesia and sedation, so that the person is as comfortable as possible. Inform yourself with us about what conscious sedation is and don’t be afraid of the treatment.
For whom are zygomatic implants recommended?
This type of implant is recommended for patients with maxillary bone loss. When a tooth or molar falls out, the bone tends to retract, resorbs and there is a loss of width and height. The longer the time between tooth loss and implant placement, the more evident this bone reduction will be, especially when it affects the upper arch. People who wear dentures also tend to lose bone rapidly.
Likewise, this retraction can be caused by periodontal diseases or infections. Therefore, zygomatic implants are indicated for people with little maxillary bone or with little bone density in whom a graft is not contemplated.
Advantages of zygomatic implants
These implants have advantages that make them an excellent option for patients with little maxillary bone. Some of them are the following:
– The postoperative period is simple and does not cause great discomfort, which allows the patient to lead a normal life immediately after the operation.
– Possibility of placing the titanium crown on the same day as the implant, so the patient does not have to wait to have his definitive tooth. They are immediate load implants.
– The titanium of the implant makes it more durable than other materials.
– Complex bone grafting surgeries are not necessary.
– The entire arch can be replaced in a single session.

Of course, before giving you a definitive quotation, all the factors that may influence it should be evaluated.
