The
dental implants
are one of the most effective solutions to replace the loss of a tooth permanently. At IMOI we are specialists in implantology

and we take care of the whole process, from the insertion of the screw to the design of the dental crowns and their placement. Want to know how we do it? Read on and we’ll tell you about it.

How is a dental crown made?

The
dental crowns
are the pieces that are placed over the screw to simulate a natural tooth. Each one is uniquely and exclusively designed for each patient, depending on the characteristics of his or her mouth. In this way, a fully esthetic appearance is achieved, integrated into the person’s smile.

At IMOI we use the most advanced techniques to make each patient’s dental crown. To do this, we use CAD-CAM technology, by means of which a laser scans the patient’s mouth and digitizes it. With this digital file, using a dental design program, the artificial tooth or molar is created and then fitted into the screw.

As it is manufactured specifically for the patient’s dentition, a smile design that meets the patient’s expectations can be created, with a natural and high quality result.

What material is a dental crown made of?

One of the most important things to consider when fabricating a dental crown is the material from which it is made. This is the main difference between them, as they can have different qualities and characteristics.

The most common materials used to fabricate crowns are metal and ceramic.

Metal and ceramic dental crowns

This type of dental crown is made of metal and then coated with ceramic to give it a more esthetic and natural look. A chromium, cobalt, palladium or titanium alloy is usually used.

The advantages of metal-ceramic dental crowns are that they can withstand high bite pressure. In the past, over time, the metal leached out and left a grayish rim at the base of the tooth. However, at present the appearance is almost perfect and the metal seepage imperceptible,

Ceramic dental crowns

All-ceramic dental crowns are the most esthetic option. As it does not incorporate metal, there is no risk of leaching and the tooth remains white throughout its service life.

What is the price of a dental crown?

The price of a dental crown, as well as the price of a dental implant, depends directly on the materials they are made of and the techniques used for their placement.

At IMOI performs a complete study free of charge. to each patient and we give you a detailed estimate so that you can decide, with all the information in hand, which option is best suited to your particular case.
